Excellent day at Deckers despite low flows, cold temps and heavy winds. Fish were congregated in the deeper pools and runs and were feeding heavily on midges. Saw a good hatch from about 10:00am through just after 1:00pm. You could see flashes in the water from trout coming up to eat emerging pupas mid water column. A size 20 $3 dip in black did most of the damage for us. Fish preferred the flies about 2’ off the bottom during the hatch. During the rest of the day we caught fish on Meyers Mini Leech size 14 and a size 20 midge larvae that I tie. We did have some snow blow in the afternoon that seemed to slow the bite but all in all a great day! 20+ hook ups. Good luck out there!
