TRIP SUMMARY

Full day trip in South Park fishing the upper South Platte. Saw lots of bugs! Midges, yellow sally, caddis, bigger mayflies size 12-16, and tons of terrestrials (hoppers, Beatles, and ants). We made it to the river by 9AM and fishing was on. Three eats on the chubby hopper in the first three casts. Lots of little fish but by mid morning we were able to seal the deal on a few nice browns. Throwing hopper dropper rigs we got most of out nicer fish on the dropper. Hot droppers were jig head Frenchie and rainbow warrior. After lunch winds picked up and thunderstorms rolled in which lead to ending our day a little early.
