I have recently started moving to tacky/fishpond fly boxes. This is my forth one. The reason I am going to these is the silicone isn't suppose to wear out like the foam boxes. I had good luck with my C&F foam boxes over there years, but flies do start falling out. This is a great size boxes. I am going to be using it for small midges and nymph mainly. The low profile makes it where you can get a few of these in slings and hip packs. The one down side, is the silicone insert is heavier than foam. You start getting very many of these in a pack it does add to the weight.

This is my most recent box and I will stick with Tacky. I use this as my nymph box and it works great. Holds a ton of bugs and secures them in place. Easy to put flies in and take flies out. Has enough room that I could only carry this box on a nymphing outing if I needed.

I just got one of these boxes as a gift, and I'm a big fan of the patented Tacky technology that grips the flies in the box. It just feels good sliding some freshly tied flies into this stuff, and I'd recommend anyone give it a try if they need to pick up an extra box.

This thing rules especially when I'm going light. Not enough space for larger dries or anything too bushy in there but for Fall and Winter nymph fishing this is pretty much all I carry.

I like the box. Probably best suited for nymphs. If you had any large hackles, or tall parachute posts....it would be better to go with their larger box better suited for dries. High quality silicons inserts are holding my flies securely.....even after washboard dirt roads!!! I have a few of these boxes in every size, I’m really glad they went to double sided.
