Product Description

The Amplitude Smooth series of lines are, simply put, the highest-performance smooth fly lines in the world. With up to five times less drag and eight times the durability of traditional lines, this will change the way you look at fly line performance.

The conventional wisdom in fly fishing is that there’s no such thing as a “do it all” freshwater line. We have something to say about that. The Amplitude Smooth Infinity has the power to bomb out streamers, yet retains delicacy for dry flies. It mends like an absolute dream, and delivers flies at all distances. Built a half-size heavy, with a long head and substantial front taper, it’s perfect for everything from trout and panfish to pike and steelhead. There’s a reason we call it the Infinity: there is no end to what you’ll be able to do with it.

Features

  • Features the revolutionary AST Plus slickness additive for superior shooting ability and increased durability
  • Extremely versatile general-purpose taper designed for most freshwater species; and excellent line for trout, grayling, panfish, bass, carp, steelhead, salmon, and pike
  • Made a half-size heavy to load fast-action rods, but works well with a variety of rod actions
  • Extended head length for long-distance casts and superior mending ability
  • Excellent for dry flies, nymphs, and streamers
  • For use in moderate and cold climates
  • Braided multifilament core
  • Camo color scheme features a mottled front taper for increased stealth

Best fly freshwater fly line!

The title says it all. I was turned on to this line by the guys at Trouts a couple years ago. Im glad I listened to them. I had fished a couple different lines in the past. Including the line that was pre-spooled on my starter kit. This line really made my casts more accurate, and improved my presentations than my previous lines. I found it more forgiving on a bad cast as well. Worth the money for sure.

Totally Versatile

I carry a lot of lines. Probably too many. But this one fishes the most on my eight weight. It's just super versatile. It shoots really, really well for not being a shooting line. Its definitely a floating line but the belly seems to be perfect because I can also get it down reasonably well if I shorten the leader and add some weight. I can toss streamers with ease but can also get some poppers under a set of over hanging brush with this guy. You get more line than $99 in my opinion.

Quality Line!

This fly line has been a joy to fish with. As the name suggests, its super smooth and easy to cast. The variety of colors offered allow you to have some choice, but as the product itself you can't go wrong. Well worth the money, and you can definitely feel the difference.

Great line

I will say that SA is my go to line. I have tried a few others, but tend to go back to SA. The coil on SA lines for me has been great, compared to a few others. They have always held up well. I do clean them regularly with dish soap. I had one line that broke, which was probably my fault, but SA customer service was excellent. I use this line on a fast action rod which it is a slightly overweighted line which helps. When fishing, I will go from dry to nymphs and even streamers at times. Wanted a line that we flexible and this works well for me. I went with the smooth, just because of cost. I do have some other SA lines that are the older textured Wavelength and do like them. Will say with textured lines it is best to wear a stripping guard because they will cut your finger easier.

Game Changer

I thought I loved fly fishing until I fished this line. Then, after I fished it I KNEW I loved it. It has been a complete game changer for me.

Seriously this line gave me a completely renewed love for the sport and it changed everything for me. My cousin had this line (WF-4-F) on a Redington Vice 8'6'' 4 wt. rod and he was kind enough to let me use it to present some small size 18 parachute adams dry flies to some brown trout that were rising on a seam line underneath some overhanging trees. This line presented those small dry flies with the utmost care and delicacy, and I was lucky enough to hook into what at the time was my very first fish on a dry fly.

I know for a fact that I wouldn't have had the success I had that day if it were not for this line (as a matter of fact I wasn't able to catch one with the line that was on my personal reel for the rest of the day.) This line is so soft and supple it has great castability and loads medium to medium-fast action rods perfectly.

Overall, LOVE this line.
