Q&A

Wader Care

  • SIMMS waders are all built from a durable breathable fabric. Whether that is GORE-TEX® or Toray®, the care that should be taken is the same.
  • Waders should be dried after each use, both inside and out. Simms understands that certain situations do not allow for time to fully dry between uses. It is the expectation that this circumstance will contribute to a potential shorter lifespan.
  • Breathable fabrics are porous in nature and can collect dirt, oils from the skin and other environmental substances. Regular cleaning of waders is a key contributor to their lifespan.
  • Depending on the amount of days used, annual, bi-annual or tri-annual washing is recommended.
  • Exposure to salt water or salt air requires special care: The waders must be rinsed thoroughly with fresh water and dried after each use.

Warranty & Repairs:

If your SIMMS product fails due to a defect in workmanship or materials, SIMMS will repair or replace your gear and get you back on the water as soon as possible. If your SIMMS product fails due to excessive wear, accidents involving barbed wire or campfires, or the natural breakdown of materials over extended time, SIMMS will make every effort to repair your gear for a reasonable fee.

Great value

These are the first pair of waders I bought after fishing in hand-me-down waders for years. I was immediately impressed with the quality of these waders, and they are a huge step up from the leaky waders I am used to. I can tell that these will last me years. If you're someone who is on a budget like me, these provide a fantastic value.

I tried them out for size at the Denver location. At 5'4", 125 lbs, the small were the perfect fit for me. Even though I'm a size 9 shoe, the size 7-8 stockingfoot feels great and hasn't been an issue for me.

More great Simms products at Trouts!

Another great recommendation on waders that won't break the bank. Staff is always extremely helpful and willing to help you find the products you want in the price range you are looking for. Best fly shop in Denver!

Excellent Waders at an Excellent Price

As other reviewers have said, the Freestone's are an excellent wader at an excellent price. They're durable and the Toray fabric breathes well. Is it Gore Tex? No, but unless you want to pay twice as much these are a great alternative backed by the Simms guarantee.

Great Value

Just picked up a pair in Frisco shop: I'm 5'11' 190 lbs and got a Large (9-11). They fit just snug enough to not be too baggy but good mobility. Used the day I got them on Blue River with air temp 40 degrees. After 2 hours wading in late afternoon my feet started getting cold, but too be expected in winter. Kind of a minimalist design with no bells and whistles, just rugged well made waders at a great price. Four stars only as have not had time to truly test them out.
