Product Description

The new biodegradable foam has more benefits beyond keeping our waterways cleaner.  The new design out-performs the original plastic design in every way.

We believe in keeping our waterways as clean as possible. We redesigned our popular strike indicators with biodegradable foam so those indicators that end up floating away for any reason will break down over time.

  • Standard Rigging:
    • Unscrew the locking nut
    • Lay the butt section of your leader in the slot
    • Replace the locking nut and tighten down
    • Note:  For smaller diameter leaders, you can remove the rubber washer for a tighter fit.  This will not result in a damaged leader
  • 90 Degree Rigging:
    • Remove the locking nut
    • Thread your leader through the locking nut and slide up to the butt section
    • Place leader butt section in the slot on top of the indicator
    • Tighten locking nut down on the post as shown with leader sticking out one side, then out the top

  • 30% Lighter:  Easier, more efficient casting and delivery.
  • Suspends 25% more weight on the water.
  • Stealth:  Neutral-colored post is less visible to fish, and the lighter overall weight lands softer on the water.
  • Sensitivity:  Better strike detection.
  • Durability:  No more leaks, dents, holes, cracks or pops!
  • Easier to see leader slot when attaching.
  • Hurts 38.6% less when you hit yourself in the back of the head on a forward cast.

Screw them on tight!

Very good product - small, light and easy to attach to line. Threw one off because I didn't screw it on tight enough - my error. A little pricey, but might be worth it depending how big of fish this indicator indicates.

A good strike indicator but with some problems...

Air-Lock Strike Indicators are good but one problem I found is that if you lose the cap, then you're out of luck and you can't use it. Good thing Air-Lock provides extra caps just in case you lose one but you better have it with you. Another problem I found is that you're limited on how thick of a leader you can put these strike indicators on. If the line is too thick, you won't be able to fit the line into the slot. Having said all that, I like this strike indicator the best out of all the ones out there. 4/5 stars!

No Better One on the Market

These just work. They go on easy. They are easy to see. They float well. They biodegrade, so you don't feel bad when you lose one on the water. A float naturally can mess with your drift but that's the nature of a float. As far as floats go, if you've made the decision to use a bobber, there is no second best. The air lock system makes them go on easy even when you get all rigged up and realize that you haven't put on your float. Or decide mid-set you need a float. These things are perfect.

The Best

Simply put, these strike indicators are the best on the market. Superior to Thingamabobber. Air-Lock indicators do not kink the line to the extent that the competitor does. Air-Locks also hold fast from the blunt end of a leader to the tiniest tippet. This allows you to correctly set your distance from stream bottom to indicator for that perfect drift. Try to attach your Thingamabobber to your tippet and see what happens!

The 3 packs come with extra screw tops for those fat finger mid stream gear adjustments.

I wish they would make a combo 3-pack with 1 of each size.

Get some, you’ll be happy you did!

Good overall

I have these in a variety of sizes and colors. They float like a cork and are easily visible on the water. The locking mechanism makes it very easy to adjust the depth of your flies, and it doesn't damage the leaders at all in my experience.

The main downsides for me is that they are a bit on the heavier side, and it's so easy to lose the little screw cap.

Generally, I prefer yarn indicators for their sensitivity and easier casting, but I keep these around for swifter currents where yarn just won't do.
