Product Description

The T2000 Traveler Series vise as it was called back then have gone thru some major changes. From a T2000 Traveler Non Cam Jaw to a C2000 Traveler Series with Cam jaw. It was not until almost 20 years later that the most dramatic change took place, when we introduced the Traveler 2200 Series Vises and 2012 when the Traveler 2300 was introduced.

The Traveler True Rotary Vise was first introduced in 1988, since then it has become the most popular in the world. It offered the True Rotary feature Renzetti Inc is known for, as well as portability, unquestionable hook holding power and an affordable price.

While still we offered the great features of a True Rotary Vise, the Traveler 2300 and 2200 offers more comfort and longer lasting finish. We added a 7″ stem to the base model, all aluminum parts were anodized, and a polyurethane jaw o-ring added longer wear to your tying need. We did not compromise in quality nor did we cut corners with this vise. Our goal was to continue to offer the beginner as well as the experience tyer a True Rotary vise that will challenge her or him as well as offer a long lasting piece of equipment.

In 2015, we re-introduced the Original Traveler 2000 Series Vises, while still offering some of the improvements made throughout the years.

This is a good vise. The instructions for the rotary tension were unclear. I was able to figure it out after a bit of time.

Can't beat it!

Similar to other reviewers, I started with a pretty cheap vise when I began tying and quickly realized I'd want to upgrade to something that could handle a wider range of hook sizes better, and preferably had a rotary function. I did a ton of research and went back and forth between the Traveler and others, but landed on this one and I have been extremely pleased.

It'll hold virtually any hook size you can throw it with a little adjustment, and the rotary function is extremely smooth. I've tied hundreds of flies so far and works wonderfully. If I had one gripe/thing I would look at upgrading in the future, it would be the pedestal base. While it's usually fine, if I'm really cranking a streamer sometimes the pedestal isn't heavy enough, but it doesn't happen often. Overall it's a bomb vise that I can't see myself replacing for a very long time.

Rotary Or Bust

This was my second vise (ever) and I couldn't be happier. I did a ton of research before pulling the trigger and am happy with my decision. Especially with opting for a rotary vise. I don't see how you could ever want a vise without this feature..

I've tied everything from 4/0 hooks for Bass to size 22 for Trout and have never had any issues with the hook slipping. Since buying this vise, two of my friends jumped on the wagon and have had nothing but great things to say.

Spend 5 minutes digging on the interwebs for "best bang for your buck vise" and you'll end up with one of these in your shopping cart. Spend a few hours tying with it and you'll likely never want/need to use anything else.

Fantastic vise

I've been tying for about a year now with most of that time spent with one of those cheap $40 fly tying kits. That got the job done for me as I was learning how to tie, but as I got better I became increasingly frustrated with the instability of the vise of its inability to hold a hook, especially anything smaller than a size 18. I picked up the Renzetti Traveler a couple months ago and wow what a world of difference this vise makes. I was immediately impressed by its hook holding power - I've tied down to size 24 with no problem at all. The pedestal base is nice and heavy which keeps the vise stable. Pretty much everything on the vise is adjustable, so as I've been experimenting with the rotary capabilities for the first time I easily found a setup that I'm comfortable with. I wasn't sure if upgrading to the 2200 series was worth the extra $40, so I opted for the cheaper 2000 series, and I'm happy with the quality of the material. I would definitely buy this vise again, but I don't think that'll be necessary as it seems like it'll last me a long long time.
