Product Description

Scott G Series are iconic fly rods. They’re medium action, smooth flexing fly rods treasured by anglers the world over.

Scott introduced the first G rods in 1976, and changed fly fishing by creating the first 9’ 4 weight fly rod. We also introduced the world to the hollow internal ferrule-the most sophisticated way to connect multi-piece fly rods in a smooth and seamless fashion.

In 2006, Scott introduced the G2 series and modernized medium-action fly rods by making them lighter in hand and increasing their recovery speed.

Now, they bring you the all new G Series. These rods advance medium action fly rods with two innovations. Scott has reinvented the hollow internal ferrule to make it more flexible, stronger, and more than 20% lighter. They've also combined their cutting edge fiber and resin systems in the most advanced multi-modulus layups Scott has ever created. New multi-slope tapers were designed to take full advantage of the new materials layups.

The results are rods that help solve one of the toughest challenges in medium action fly rod design-how to create a rod that both bends deeply and remains stable. New G Series rods balance lighter in hand, have much more stability through the middle of the rod for better tracking, and generate higher line speeds. They do all this while retaining the classic flex of your favorite medium action rods.
The G Series is bringing together presentation and power, so now you can pull hard on 7X tippet AND fish in the wind. The all new G Series. Like no other.

You'd be foolish not to get one.

It's a Scott. It's a G Series. It's American made. It makes you a better person. It gives you super powers. It makes men want to be you. I makes women want to be with you. You get a slight Scottish accent when you hold it. It is akin to He-Man's sword or Gandalf's staff. Just buy one...or don't and just let me catch all the fish.

Perfect creek rod

The 8’4” 3wt is the perfect creek rod. Paired with a Ross Colorado LT, this is a classic small stream kit. I use it for my favorite style of fishing, which is finding little blue lines on a topo map and bushwhack to willing trout that rarely, if ever, see flies. Highly recommend a double tapered fly line since casts are rarely more than 20 feet.

My Dream Flyrod

I was looking for a medium action 4 wt rod and wanted to invest in something that was really going to make a difference on the water. I did the research and narrowed it down to the Sage Trout LL and Scott G Series. Both rods were amazing to cast but for me the G Series was the best fit. The rod has incredible feel and touch. I feel like I can put a dryfly anywhere I want with this rod. It is also perfect for the two - nymph rigs mostly used in Colorado. Many thanks to the Trouts team in helping me with the my whole setup. I could not be happier!

844 GS

The 844 GS is the perfect all arounder for the Driftless. I use it for everything from hippy stompers in the fall to pink squirrel nymphs under wool indicators in the winter. I fish mine with a 4/5 Colorado LT for the ultimate made in Colorado combo. It pairs well with a true trout taper

Scotts for my go-to rod

After decades of fishing with hand-me-down rods from father and brother i came into a little disposable income and decided to get my go-to setup. I did a lot of research as this was going to be a purchase I planned on using often and hopefully even eventually hand down to someone else way down the road.
I was considering a Winston, Sage and Scott. I walked into Trouts at the old shop on 6th and Tucker grabbed all three models I was looking at and we went across the street ot the parking lot. I got to cast all three and found the Scott to be the most versatile.
In the subsequent trips to the water my thoughts were confirmed. Whether windy or perfect, nymphing or dry-fly casting I've found the Scott G-Series to be superbly built. Mends, long-shot casts and trolling deep all come easy with this rod.
While the Winston was beautifully precise under the right conditions and the Sage seemed very adequate as well, the versatility coupled with the Colorado-based company of Scott lead to me to my decision and my time on the water since has confirmed my decision.
