Mark April 1st on Your Calendar

Spinney Mountain State Park has announced that April 1st will be the Opening Date for the 2017 Season! The lake is now free of ice and the park will open one half hour before sunrise (6:14 AM) on April 1st. Only the North Boat Ramp will be available for use due to low water at the South Ramp. One very important thing to keep in mind is the FIRE BAN that is in effect. All of Park County is currently under a fire ban. That means, wood and charcoal fires are prohibitied. Only propane or LPG fueled grills, stoves, lanterns and similar devices with an on/off switch are permitted at this time.

If you are unfamiliar with Spinney, it's probably time you aquaint yourself with the area. The entire park is labeled as a "Gold Medal" fishery. Spinney is a fly fishers paradise, with plenty of shoreline opportunity, great belly boat or pontoon action and stretches of the South Platte River for walk wade access.
