It was a perfect day at the Perfect Drift!!!

Fishing new water is something I believe every fly angler would regard as an enjoyable part of this whole game- and last Saturday 6 of our lucky customers got to do just that.....in a BIG way. You may have seen a Blog post a little while back stating that we had been given special access to The Perfect Drift, an exclusive private fishing club located just outside of town. After meeting our anglers at 7am in Morrison, the carpool towards the river commenced. The weather couldn't have been more ideal and by lunchtime those who had started the day with waders soon ditched them in favor of enjoying the refreshing briskness of the river. The water clarity was superb and we spent the majority of the day sight fishing to sizeable Rainbow and Brown trout. A few anglers decided to switch up tactics and swap the nymph rigs in favor of hopper patterns. It didn't take long before I was unhooking a Chubby Chernobyl from many a trout's mouth.

One of the easiest ways to tell your having fun on the water is when you look down at your watch and can't believe how fast the time is flying. I'm yet to meet a customer on a guide trip who doesn't comment on how quickly the day can pass when you add a fly rod and river to the mix, and I can say with certainty all three of us guiding that day were also under the same realization. Before we knew it we were over an hour past the "official" 8 hours that typically makes up your standard guide trip. Need more proof? Just check out the smiles in the pictures below!
