I bought the 10 foot version for high stick nymphing and it’s been excellent. Great action on it as well
So I got this Rod just for streamer only rod. Let me tell you this Rod can do anything again cast little dry flies all the way up to big kind of have your Netflix it's a little heavy but when you pair it with a really light real gold or you can even go to an MP x if you you want I think this rod fantastic four $520 you can get so much out of this Rod that you would get out of a 700-800 rod.
This was my upgrade from my first rod. So easy to cast! Finesse for dry flies, sturdy for the heavy nymphing during high flows and even chucking streamers when the occasion calls for it. Perfect on the South Platte from Deckers to the Dream Stream or the Blue, Colorado or Eagle.
I'm a beginner angler and wanted to step it up from my Echo Traverse. Since my wife was not to keen on me going to the store for hours, I was fortunate enough to get Sam in the online chat forum to recommend the G. Loomis IMX-Pro Fly Rod. I went to Telluride with it and fished the hell out of the San Miguel. I'm not sure if it was the rod but, over a four day period, I managed to hook and get over 25 fish into the net. The best part, I only lost five or six and I definitely attribute that to the action and feel of the new rod and a little more experience setting that hook.
