Hatch Professional Series Saltwater Tippet is manufactured in Japan using two of the best grades of fluorocarbon available. Our Saltwater Tippet has a consistent diameter through the entire length, superior strength, low memory, and durability to make a reliable connection to the fly. Available in 25m spools only.

  • Premium Manufacturing - Hatch Saltwater Tippet is manufactured in Japan to exacting tolerances. Using two of the best grades of fluorocarbon available, we can confidently say our Tippet will perform to the highest standard.
  • Size – All Saltwater Tippet is available in 25m spools and 8lb, 10lb, 12lb, 16lb, 20lb, and 25lb.
  • Consistent Diameter – Our Saltwater Tippet is straight and extruded to exacting dimensions. Our testing shows the diameter varies with a factor of +/- .0002”, that’s less than the width of a human hair!
  • Superior Strength – Inconsistent diameter leads to weak breaking strength in a single strand material. Hatch Saltwater Tippet is extruded to fine tolerances, eliminating weak spots in the fluorocarbon.
  • Low Memory – Right off the spool, Hatch Saltwater Tippet is memory free. Using two types of fluorocarbon resin to create a supple yet sturdy core makes our Tippet easy to knot and cast.
  • Durable – Impervious to UV and chemicals, non-absorbent, high-density, and unaffected by changing temperatures.

Strong and Clear

Used the 12, 16, and 25lb for bonefish, jacks, and other flats fish. Didn’t break any fish off, and was impressed with the abrasion resistance. I started using the 16lb for bigger trout streamers and love it. Well worth the money.
