Orvis Recon Saltwater Fly Rod

Availability: Out of Stock

Recon is the rod designed for the anglers who chase blue lines on topo maps and spend their nights bent over maps, plotting the next day’s adventures. For those who manage riverside meals of granola bars and jerky paired with the evening hatch instead of a sit-down meal at a sane hour. For anglers who would rather spend the day in the front of a skiff than behind a desk, we’ve created a rod ready to work as hard as you do in the pursuit of fish.

No complaints here!

I bought this rod in 7wt in March as a new streamer rod. I had casted my friends older models of the 3wt and 5wt and have been extremely impressed with both so decided to get one of my own and it's been fantastic for me so far. Im loving how it casts. Definitely a fast action, although it seems a touch slower than previous models which I enjoy. Plenty of backbone for punching big bugs through the wind which is what I was looking for. Balances great with my redington behemoth.

Great rod!!

I own the 9ft 7wt, I bought this as a streamer rod some time ago and really enjoy it. The thing I really like about it is how it handles sink tip lines and heavier flies. I've also used this rod for carp as well and am very satisfied with how accurate it is!
