Whether fishing for trout, bass, pike, or musky there are times when a large fly is the best option, and RIO’s Predator line series is designed specifically to cast them easily. Featuring a short, powerful front taper and plenty of weight at the front, the lines have no problem casting the biggest of flies with ease. Whether floating or sink tip, each line is built on RIO’s low stretch ConnectCore Plus for maximum performance, and features SlickCast—the slickest, most durable coating on the market.
There are 4 different density lines to cover every fishing situation:
I fish for stripers at the mouth of a river. I tried everything: versileaders, converted spey heads on my fly reel, and several intermediate lines. The WF7F/S5/S7 worked perfectly for my needs. There is a lot of technology in this line. I hate throwing these heavier lines but this one actually feels good in my hand and with my loops. I can get it out. And it goes down at a great rate. It's not too fast and not too slow. Also the transition of the intermediates makes it so that the fly moves well. You have to use a shorter leader but the sink is natural enough that you don't have the situation where the fly's action looks like it is getting pulled straight down to the ground. This works great for me.
