Product Description

Think the Yucatan or the Bahamas. The draw of blue sky and sandy ocean bottom is in the simplicity of the experience, not to mention the tropical weather. If you've tried wading in water sandals or barefoot, you'll understand why Simms developed the Zipit Bootie II for men. The low-profile design moves easily in the water and protects you from shells and unseen objects in the sand. The neoprene build hugs your ankle to help seal out sand and debris, while the double vulcanized rubber outsole and internal last create a puncture- resistant footbed, so you can focus on the water and not worry about your feet.

Features

  • Easy on/easy off saltwater wet wading shoe with gusseted zipper opening & YKK® locking corrosion-resistant zipper
  • Perforated neoprene upper with vulcanized rubber overlays for additional durability
  • Durable vulcanized rubber outsole & molded EVA sockliner & full length Bi-Fit™ lasting board for puncture resistance
  • Designed to be worn barefoot or with a light liner sock; order straight shoe size or nearest whole size up
  • Men's whole sizes: 8 - 14, Width: EE
  • Approximate pair weight: 36.8 oz

Great for kick boating

I have used these booties for kick boating for years, going on my 3rd pair. Very comfortable and has a retaining nub in the back of the heel to keep your fin strap from slipping off. I learned to get them 1-2 sizes bigger than your wading boots in order to fit thicker socks for belly boating the shoulder seasons - specifically at ice-out when the water is super chilly. I use scuba fins for extra power in the kick, they fit the booties fine but bring one bootie with you when you pick out your fins at the scuba shop to make sure.
Only minor complaint is the zipper can stick when they're old and needs to be waxed a couple times a year.
Also be aware they don't have much ankle support - you can wade a river or hike in them but you'll need to use more caution than your normal boot and the bottom of the bootie has no lugs.
