Neck strain and visibility are always a compromise with chest packs. The Overlook resolves both with a 4-point harness attachment and sleek, tapered face. And, with this kit, you can choose from two back options, a flat mesh back and a full 550 cubic inch back with net holster. And, all of the great ZeroSweep features come along for the ride. Two ZS retractor stations (great for nipper and floatant attachment), ambidextrous hemostat station, foam fly patch and tippet holder cover all your key accessories. ZS2 version now includes a molle modular attachment station allowing integration with ZS2 accessories. Two stretch mesh pockets round out the storage possibilities.
The Umpqua ZS2 chest pack has the comfort, versatility and storage space to meet your needs whether on a long day hike or a day on the drift boat.
The front of the ZS2 Overlook chest pack has two spacious pockets. The rear pocket holds my four Tacky boxes, keys, phone while the front holds my leader wallet, tippets, sinkers and indicators with plenty room to spare. The chest pack is designed to slope downwards to maximize vision while wading or walking to the next spot. The chest pack includes a number of loops for tools including a forceps garage and hidden sleeves for nippers so excess fly line won't get tangled during the cast. The MOLLE strip in the front is a nice touch for optional attachments such as a tippet holder or floatant caddy.
Another value of the ZS2 is the two included back packs. The large pack holds a rain jacket, water bottle, lunch and extra fly boxes for an all day hike. Also included is a net sleeve for long handled nets, tool loops and a MOLLE strip on the bottom for additional attachment points including an optional water bottle holder. The smaller mesh pack is designed for wearing on a drift boat or deep wading and is equally comfortable.
The overall pack is designed to fit almost anyone with quick adjustments for body length and width and the shoulder straps are padded for all day comfort. Highly recommended for ESN fishing when immediate access to terminal tackle and flies are required to adjust for the depth and current of your run.
This thing is amazing. It is very light and spacious and I love the option to have the backpack attached. The material is heavy duty and high quality. Although it is heavy duty this pack is very light and can be worn easily for hours on end.
Long time Umpqua buyer, first time chest pack owner. In short, great pack, plenty of space, really like the optional "backpack" that can be attached to the chest pack to increase storage. My biggest concern, which has not been an issue yet, is the strength of the straps for your shoulders. I think the material is a bit on the "lighter" side, especially for any anglers that make hikes to their rivers of choice. The abrasion over time may cause the straps to fail. Other than that, this pack is excellent, comfortable fit, aplenty of areas to attach accessories, and overall a good price for what your getting.
A fantastic package. It has the ability to carry all my daily requirements for short pot hole fishing or long hikes to get away from the crowds Very comfortable and well balanced.to eliminating that end of the evening back ache. Plenty of room to carry rain gear food and beverage. I’ve had several packs over time and this one is tops.
The new Umpqua ZS2 pack is an excellent one. I was excited to see the improvements they made to this pack and it did not disappoint. It is light weight, functional, and easy to work with. I highly recommend it!
