Featured Trouts Guide Report of the Week - 9/21 Edition

Ivan Orsic / Sep 21, 2021

PRODUCTIVE FLIES

Each week we choose one report from our Guide Reports section of the Guide Report page! Click the Guide Report dropdown and you'll find up-to-date Guide Reports from our professional fly fishing guides. Each report will detail the location, timing, hatch information, fly selection, and rigging. This week's Guide Report is brought to you by our very own Tucker Bamford. Read below to hear about Tucker Bamford and his recent full-day walk/wade trip on the South Platte River at Deckers! According to Kaleb, the fishing is getting a little technical out there so it might be time to size down your flies! Stay tuned to our Guide Reports section of the website for more reports from various rivers as we continue to get clients out on some of our favorite water. We had a great day nymph fishing but didn't see much action on the surface today. It got to over 80 degrees in the afternoon, but it was only 34 degrees when we arrived this morning so take a warm jacket if you're headed up there this week. We got action on a variety of nymphs, mostly size 20-24 pheasant tails, chocolate emergers, and RS2's. Most of the fish we caught were in faster water riffles and runs.
