Trouts is proud to partner with Umpqua Feather Merchants and offer our unique fly tying series and give you the opportunity to sit down and tie with the who’s who of the tying industry.

Colorado is home to some of the best fly designers and tiers in the country. Shea Gunkel just so happens to be a Colorado native and resident. With those two facts known; we are very excited to announce Shea Gunkel as the host of our first 2019 Signature Umpqua Tier Series! You might remember Shea from the fly tying video that we produced with him in late 2018.

Born and raised in Colorado, Shea has been tying flies since he was 10. While we're not at liberty to release Shea's age, we do know that's been quite some time. With patterns such as Shotglass Baetis, Shotglass Emerger Dun, and the Splatte Roller, Shea's flies should be a staple in every anglers box.
