Trouts is proud to partner with Umpqua Feather Merchants and offer our unique fly tying series and give you the opportunity to sit down and tie with the who’s who of the tying industry.

You might remember Andrew Grillos from Five Flies for August 2018...but, you should probably recognize Andrew Grillos from the multitude of righteous signature fly patterns that he has to his name. From the Hippie Stomper to the Hamburgler to the Heavy Metal Worm to the Bob Gnarly to the 64 Impala to the Party Animal to the Pool Toy, Grillos has 20 Signature Flies to his name. Born in Colorado, Andrew started tying flies at 14 and became a commercial fly tier at 16. He's guided all over the world, but currently calls Bozeman, Montana home. Andrew is an accomplished angler, fly designer, and male model (that one time for SIMMS). This is a little different than your typical fly tying class. We're honored to have Andrew is traveling down from Bozeman and he doesn't want to hang out for a couple of hours. Instead, Andrew will be providing 5 hours of intermediate level tying instruction focusing on the wide variety of flies that he likes to tie - Foam Dry Flies, Streamers and a couple hidden gems. He might even break out the ole pizza fly if you ask nice.

Here’s your chance to take your tying to the next level. Our small class size (8-participants), allows you to share a vise with one of the best in the business.

No vise, no worries we’ll have extras. Materials will be included. Intermediate Tying Experience Required.
