These dudes crushed it out there today! Epic day in Deckers with quite a few fish to the net, even a double up! We started off strong at 8am pulling fish out of 2 separate holes that don't get a ton of attention due to some crowded parking lots. Fish have started to venture out of the deep runs and we found them in some slower banks and edges of riffles. Midge patterns worked great in the morning, neon nightmare and cream colored zebras specifically. We saw the hatch and action shut down at around 11 am, so we fished for a bit more before lunch at about 1pm. After we got back on the water we had to switch up the game plan a bit and pheasant tails did the trick, basically doubling our fish count on that pattern alone. Although we did have some split shot we only needed a small piece above our point fly to get them in the zone. Water temps all day stayed around 45 degrees and although we had a couple small wind gusts, it stayed a perfect air temp around the mid 50's. Absolutely great time of the year to be on the water so take advantage before we hit the hot summer days that will cut your day short.
