TRIP SUMMARY

Overall a fun day on the Ark! With runoff starting to begin and rivers getting bigger by the day it can turn some people off to fishing streams at this time, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still can’t catch some nice fish! We focused our time on fishing slow eddies, behind boulders and looking for that walking speed current the fish like to sit in when the river gets high. Fish bigger bugs, make sure to get them deep quickly and you will find fish willing to eat. Keep an eye out for colder days in the forecast. These colder days will provide a slight relief of the snow melt and fishing can be really good on these days especially with a streamer.

Top flies of the day were size 8 Jigged Goldenstone, Red San Juan worm and size 18 Olive Darth Baetis.
