It was a great day at Deckers today. While other rivers are rising from snowmelt and recent rains, Deckers continues to fish well. Flows were 223 today but have since raised to the 360 cfs range. Fishing started off hot with happy fish feeding on midges in the seams next to faster water. In the mid morning we added size 18 mayfly nymph to the middle of our three fly rig and had success fishing the riffles in quicker water. As the day progressed we saw a few fish rising to a few caddis and decided to fish some drys. Early June can be a great time to find some dry fly opportunities. A size 16 Elk Hair Caddis with a size 20 mole fly trailed 18 inches behind is all we needed to fool a couple trout. Anytime you get to catch fish on drys is an awesome day on the water.
