TRIP SUMMARY

I love the Arkansas in July. The river is fishing great, especially on the upper section below Leadville. Flows are coming down a little each day but are in a perfect spot currently. Fish are happy and we are seeing a lot of caddies and even a few drakes. Fishing isn’t too technical right now. I have been using an indicator in the early mornings fishing the deeper runs then switching to Caddis drys as the bugs start to come off and the fish start to look up. Top flies of the day were Caddis Candy size 18, size 18 Elk Hair Caddis and a size 20 brown Mole Fly.
