TRIP SUMMARY

Great morning today on the Middle Fork! Flows are holding steady after a couple days of afternoon rain, this is also keeping the water temp nice and cool throughout the day. I temped 59.5 at 4:30pm the other day but still be cognizant if there is a hot stretch with little rain, it is always smart to have a thermometer when you're trout fishing in august. Fishing has been better when it is sunny after the morning fog goes away. Hopper dropper set ups are the way to go right now especially in the early mornings with less bug activity. As the water temp increases the fishing starts to improve and fish are looking for hoppers and mayfly imitations near the bank. Sometimes a single dry fly is best to really get your fly close to the bank.
