TRIP SUMMARY

Higher flows and colder water switched the program up on us at Deckers. Things are back to "normal". The dry fly bite has been less frequent, we are mostly getting fish on small rs2 (sz 20) splitback PMD( size 18) and wine colored worms (sz14). Work the water you have in front of you with precision, and do not be afraid to stop casting for a while and just pay attention to what is happening around you both in the river and out. Most of our opportunities come from slowly working thru the runs, finding individual fish, and making good casts to them. Sight fishing is not easy but with practice and patience you will be rewarded. The Brown Trout are in pre-spawning colors already. We have seen many very beautiful fish coming out of the Deckers area. Get out there, be kind to each other, and have fun. Fall is my favorite time of the year!
