Full day fishing trip with Brent, Maggie and father Lee. We fished the Trumble section of the South Platte in Deckers. Started out slower and colder in the morning and as the water warmed up fishing got better. Found fish slow and deep at first and then as the water warmed up we found fish in riffles. Best fishing was from between 3-4pm. We hooked over 35 and were fortunate enough to net over 20 of them. Fishing under indicator nymphing. I’ve been throwing mostly the same four flies all spring/summer. A leech or a warm for a lead fly and then trailing by a size 22 mercery pheasant tail followed by a size 22 brown foam wing emerger (chocolate thunder).
