Deckers as of lately. Flows have been on the drop. I wrote 200 cfs because that was about the flow we caught these fish at. Right now it is sitting at 160cfs today 10/27/22. These were two different guide trips. With the drop in flows, the colder and shorter days I've been noticing bugs have been getting smaller. Still seeing a few fish on beds, there are lots of beds EVERYWHERE watch your step! That being said the egg has been a great attractor pattern. The egg is definitely producing the numbers in the bag, but the mercury Pheasant tail size #24 has caught the bigger fish on both guide trips. I am also seeing a ton of small midges mid day and have been catching fish on a size #26 foam wing emerger. There are still a few small mayflies kicking around mid day making the mercury pheasant tail my top fly catching those big picky browns. Afternoons have been more productive giving the water time to warm up a little. Fun to see those big browns out and about colored up! I rated it a 3/5 because it is colder out there and fish are picky. Feeding windows have been getting smaller with smaller bugs and shorter hatches, at the same time those big browns are out to play making it fun!
