Current River Flow Updates
Latest Update: 9/25/23
The South Platte above Spinney Reservoir is flowing at 32 CFS. Hopper droppers can still work on warmer days however your best bet at the moment will be a light indicator rig. Lead with a small floss worm, egg or mini leech (#14-18) and trail a baetis or midge behind it. Patterns like RS2's, chocolate thunders, black beauties and top secrets in an #18-22 are usually a solid choice for around here in the fall. With the low flows, be using 4 or 5x to your point fly and 5 or 6x to your smaller offering. Tossing a streamer into some of the cut banks and deeper bends can also be worth a shot.
