It's late summer in the Rockies and fall is around the corner. On the angling horizon, it's more of the same that we've been experiencing over the past couple of weeks. With elevated flows along the South Platte and lower than average flows on many of our favorite freestones, we're firmly in hopper-dropper season with tricos playing as the stars of the show. On the tailwaters, you can mix in some big attractor flies, as well.
Unfortunately, there isn't much rain in the forecast and we certainly hope that the fires in the high country can be contained and property damage is minimized. With the low flows on the freestones, getting on the water early and off early will be the key to finding healthy and happy fish when the water is holding below 67F.Prefer your River Reports in writing?
